I was quoted $3,224.09 by broker Eddie Brown for a door-to-door move with no hidden fees. I paid $1,280 upfront. On moving day, the driver demanded $900 more before evaluating anything and threatened to cancel without refund. I was coerced into signing a new contract. I was charged $2,445.62 at pickup and $2,845.63 at delivery (including a $400 distance fee), totaling $6,571.25—more than double the estimate, in clear violation of the 110% limit for non-binding estimates. The quote was wildly inaccurate, and I was deceived from start to finish.

I recently moved from Pompano, FL to Connecticut, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! The movers arrived right on time, which made the process start off smoothly. Communication throughout the entire move was excellent-they kept me updated every step of the way, which really eased my stress.

I made a reservation deposit on August 14, 2025, via bank draft in the amount of $1626.90 for a move to Taos, NM, in October 2025. I cancelled the move the next day, August 15, 2025, via email and requested a refund. I can provide a copy of the Payment Authorization Form which states “Deposits are refundable if the customer cancels the order within 72 hours of placing their reservation (minus 10% Merchant Fees).

I have pursued this refund for seven months now. I have spoken to agents at customer service at least fifteen times. In those calls, I was told many things, including that I would get a call back, that the check is on the way, etc., none of which was true. I finally got a call back (the first one) on March 10 from the new manager of two months, Brian, who told me that they have a policy of not refunding bank drafts in ANY circumstances. That was not communicated to me at the time, or I would not have given the deposit by bank draft. On the contrary, I have the Payment Authorization form they sent me that says that I will get a refund if cancelled within 72 hours. Beware this unscrupulous and deceptive company.

I am a retired combat veteran who needed a 2BR moved and I reached out to Value Added because they claimed that they specialize in moving and they cater to the military so I was sold. Spoke to an individual named Michael who walked me through what my intent was. I gave him a list of things I had and he drew up an estimate for like 3500 dollars with me having to pay 1895 down. I did that and thought I was set up. Boy was I wrong. When I received my contract I noticed it stated medium boxes on there so when I got a QA call to confirm my shipment I told them that I didn’t have just medium boxes that I had multiple sizes and they told me that it didn’t matter what sizes I had. I also told the QA team that I had more boxes than what Michael had down. Michael had me down for 25 boxes in which I told him that I had over 25 boxes so when I spoke to the QA individual he changed my number from 25 to 40 and gave me another estimate in which I was good to go to pay. The payment changed by at least 400 dollars which was ok for me. Once I finished packing everything up I recounted my boxes and I had 58 boxes so I reached back out to the QA individual named Merc or Marc and asked him to make the final adjustment and no one responded. So now it’s time for my appointment and they scheduled it at 6pm to 8 pm for some strange reason and I waited for them to find out that they were not coming on the day they gave me. The driver called me and told me that he would be there the following day from 8am to 10am. I waited and the driver showed up and told me that I have more stuff than what he was supposed to be picking up. I found it annoying that I couldn’t contact value added anymore and I was annoyed that they had subcontractors coming to pick my stuff up and he charged me over double the price! So I went from 3500 to 8000 dollars to move my stuff when I could have done it myself for cheap. I had already packed everything myself so all I needed was to get me a UHAUL truck hire some helpers and load the truck myself but Value Added had me sold that they would take care of me and they left me high and dry with an expensive bill to pay! Now I know a lot of veterans who have served and military service members who are continuing to serve and I will let them know not to seek Value Added for their services because they rob veterans! I thought they were going to take care of me now I gotta pay double just to get my items when I should not have too!!! This is how you treat your Veterans! Give one price of 3500 dollars but end up paying 7900 when it is delivered! That is not taking care of veterans!

I understand that you are the broker for this company. But, I would seriously remove them from the rotation. And find another way to do quotes. I did a walk through with the rep with pictures and I can show the text messages where I gave a full view of everything to Mike. The price went from 4600 to 8500. The movers showed up late to my home and were there until midnight. This is a violation of the apartment's policy. They also removed the security box that goes with the security system after I gave explicit instructions to the contrary. I told the man that the box belonged to the apartment and was to remain ( I have a picture of it). That is destruction of property. I am being charged by the apartment for that and expect the company to reimburse me as I told the movers that the box was not to go. I also do not appreciate the movers destroying the 100 dollar lighting system that was on the television that should not have been removed (pictures taken). They did not pack everything and left many items behind, even though a walkthrough was done when they arrived and they were told when we did the final walk through. The movers acted like it was the biggest inconvenience and left without packing those things (pictures were taken). The total amount almost doubled and the explanation that was given to me was that the agent did not have any idea of the amount of items to be taken. That is not true as I said, the agent did a virtual walk through of my house. The mover also stated something about moving IKEA furniture, basically stating that it will be destroyed in the process of the move and they are not responsible for that. That was not discussed or stated when Mike and I spoke on the phone. That IKEA clause is not even in my contract. This has been the worst moving experience. The whole time the movers kept commenting on how much stuff I had as if having a furnished 2 bedroom apartment was not something I should have. I will let you make the implications from there. Don't know if it is because I am a person of color or a woman, take your pick. It was not a comfortable experience for me. I also want to speak in terms of payment collections, I do not know anyone who carries thousands of dollars in cash to get money orders and or give someone cash for a move, but I was not comfortable giving money orders for loading and unloading my stuff. This should be standard policy that credit and debit cards should be taken. They are also not in contact with the dispatch department of the company as I have been contacted by more than one person about the delivery and no one is talking to each other. This makes me think the company is a scam. Too many red flags for me on this and I will not be using this company again. I am also telling my employer as well, this was a company funded relocation. This cost was totally unacceptable. 

the contract price and the actual was 3721 difference. The total was 8520 from a quote of 4800. As I stated I only have a 2 bedroom apartment. Again I have pictures of everything I have stated. And when I tried to speak to the agent Mike, my text messages and calls have gone unanswered. Very poor customer service.

Booked a move last minute from Canoga Park, CA to Bend, OR. The representative on the phone was helping and understanding of my situation in needing to book last minute as I had to cancel with my last movers on site because of a price dispute. My estimate didn’t change onsite unlike my last nightmare. The crew onsite worked hard and got my items loaded pretty quick. Items got delivered in less than a week. Would recommend these guys out of all the movers that I’ve worked they are pretty high up there.

This was my first time moving with a professional company, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. From the initial booking call to the final delivery, they truly saved the day. The team had excellent communication, were incredibly friendly, professional, and punctual! I opted for the full packing service (where they brought all the materials and packed up my closets, cabinets, and everything), and they even made a second stop along the way. They exceeded my expectations while maintaining impressive efficiency. I'm beyond impressed and will definitely choose them for any future moves. Thank you so much for all your help!

I have moved so many times in my life (local, regional and internationally). It can be immensely stressful, and frustrating. I think that these folks at Value Added Moving represent the best of the best. It comes down to doing what is right.. character! I cannot recommend them enough. They are fair, honest and have demonstrated solid integrity. I trust them completely. I have said about few moving companies over the years. This is different and just better to work with and yes the guys are great on the actual move fun, friendly and strong!

These guys were EXCELLENT! Punctual, professional, responsive, and FAST! Literally took 2 hours TOTAL to move my things out of a storage unit via freight elevator, commute approximately 10-15 mins, and unload up one flight of stairs. I already had everything packed, but they secured everything PERFECTLY during transport. I will definitely request them when I move from here as it is only temporary. I've provided 3 angles of what was in the storage unit, and 4 angles of how it was placed in my living room! 5 stars!

Had a really great experience using them to move a treadmill upstairs. He was really responsive in scheduling the guys the next morning. They showed up timely and carried that beast up the stairs. They were friendly and happy to help! I think we were all surprised by the weight of this machine! This was the second time I used them to move an oversized item. The first time I had them remove a sleeper sofa from the second floor and take it away. Another beastly sized item! Happy to support them even when I'm not moving! Thanks guys!!!

They were great to work with. They were flexible with my time to come a little later than agreed upon, as we picked up the truck a little late. They arrived ready to work and moved all the items in the condo to the truck super fast. Also, they stayed later than agreed upon to get the job completed. They were flexible and wonderful to work with. They definitely know what they're doing when it comes to wrapping furniture. Loading a truck correctly, and are fast and professional. I I would highly recommend hiring them to help with your next move!
